چکیده

Ameloblastoma is characteristically considered to be a benign but locally aggressive and infiltrative odontogenic tumor with high recurrence rate. Because of its invasive nature, the rates for ameloblastoma post treatment remains high. Recurrence also seems depend on histological type modalities used. Curettage alone reported have led 90% rate mandibular tumors 100% maxillary in literature. In sample 327 cases large study, 17.7% was noted after radical 22.6% conservative treatment; granular follicular variants ameloblastomas were seen recur more frequently than plexiform type. Most recurrences occur at site primary tumor. However, lesions are known bone grafts, rarely, involves adjacent soft tissues. this we present an unusual case that recurred left residual tissue 8 years first surgery i.e. disarticulating hemimandibulectomy. The patient regular follow up second 23 months she has been symptom free till now.

It appears most commonly in the third to fifth decades and with equal frequency between sexes. Ameloblastoma prevalently occurs in the mandibular molar and the ramus areas. Recurrence frequently appears after inadequate treatment. They are usually b...

Soft Tissue Recurrence with a Mucocele of an Intraosseous Ameloblastoma

Ameloblastoma is an odontogenic tumor of high frequency and usually occurs as an intraosseous growth. Ameloblastomas frequently recur, sometimes undergoing malignant transformation. These tumors are usually characterized as being multilocular, of the follicular type histopathologically, and invading strongly at the border region of the tumor. More than 10% p53-positive tumor cells give a progno...

Ameloblastoma accounts for approximately 10% of all tumors that originate in the maxilla and mandible. It often presents as a slow growing, painless swelling, causing expansion of the cortical bone, perforation of the lingual and/or buccal plates a...

Plexiform (multinodular) schwannoma of soft palate. Report of a case.

Plexiform schwannoma is a rare benign neoplasm of the neural sheath characterized by a multinodular plexiform growth pattern. Only 5% of schwannomas have a plexiform or multinodular growth pattern. Schwannoma apparently derives from the Schwann cells. Extracranially, 25% of all schwannomas are located in the head and neck region, but only 1% show an intraoral origin. The intraoral lesions show ...
